Lusting Over the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette | 2015

Urban Decay have got to be the masters of eye shadow palette's. From the beautiful packaging to the flawless shades, they have got it down to a T.

When it comes to eye shadow, I always play it safe. A neutral eye paired with winged liner and a red lip is my go-to look. To achieve this, I usually stick to my comfort zone and play around with the shades of the Naked 2 palette, however when I saw the colors included in the Naked 3 palette, I just had to get my hands on it!

I was a bit hesitant to start with as it is quite pricey, but it was definitely worth the investment. Although there are some colors I use more than others, I have found a use for each shade included in the palette.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - £37 at FeelUnique.com
Here's a brief run through of the colors and what I use them for, starting on the left-hand side.

Strange - A beautiful off-white shade. Perfect for around the tear-duct to brighten and/or widen your eyes. I also like to use this color to tone down my eye shadow if ever I find myself to have applied too much.

Dust - Possibly the most fairy-like shade I have ever laid eyes on. It's a stunning shimmery pale pink that blends beautifully with Strange to create a very subtle girly look. It may also be used to add a dusting of glimmer to heavier looks that may appear dull (if only matte shades are used, for example). Personally, I think this is a great shade for work or school as it adds a bit of glitz and glam to any look without being too in your face about it.

Burnout - A more grown-up version of dust, perfect for a more sophisticated look. I mainly use this in my crease to add a bit of dimension to any soft look.

Limit - The first matte shade of the palette in a beautiful dusty pink shade. I often wear this alone if I'm going for a very soft make-up look, however if I want to dress it up a bit I'll add a coat of Dust on top to add some shimmer.

Buzz - A very prominent color with a somewhat metallic finish. I use this color a lot on my outer V and lower lash line alongside Strange (tear-duct), Burnout (crease) and Limit (lid).

Trick - A very difficult shade to describe! It's definitely in keeping with the rose-hued tones of the palette, however this shade has what appears to be copper undertones to it making it really stand out as the center piece of the palette! Like Buzz, it has a very metallic finish to it and I mainly use it on my outer V, but with colors from the Naked 2 palette.

Nooner - Another matte shade of a darker rose color. This is the ideal base shade for a darker make-up look and is great to use on the lower lash line to bring the look together.

Liar - A metallic version of limit. I like to use this alone for an effortless sophisticated look.

Factory - Ideal for creating a dramatic outer V. I enjoy pairing this with Nooner (lid) and Strange (tear-duct).

Mugshot - Arguably my favorite shade of the palette, purely based on how unique I find it. I love the silver undertones it has, and I think it's perfect for adding a girly hint to a smokey eye.

Darkside - The shade I find most difficult to use. However when I opt for a darker eye look, I like to use this on my lower lash line to bring all the colors together.

Blackheart - I sometimes use this as an alternative to eye-liner if I want a softer look that blends well with my chosen make-up look. It's a beautiful deep purple shade that sparkles in the light. I think this shade will also be very popular October time when creating Halloween looks.

It's yet to replace the Naked 2 palette as my favorite, but it sure is creeping up close!
Feel free to comment below some of your favorite shades from either palette!

Until the next time,
