May Favorites | 2016

Aloha!

What better way to get back into the blogging spirit than a lovely little 'favorites' post, eh?
May has been quite a stressful month for me, and I'm sure those of you aged between 16-22 will also agree! Nobody likes exams, and I think we all have our little coping mechanisms to stop ourselves from plummeting into a wobbly meltdown filled with tears and tantrums.

Unfortunately, my coping strategy has been online shopping. Sat an exam? Well done you, Han. One more highlighter to add to the collection! Memorized a new topic? FAB, I'm sure you deserve a new Kylie Jenner lip kit for that! Survived the day? Bravo! Here's a new blusher for your efforts. You see what I mean? My name's Hannah and I'm a shopaholic.

Anyway, ignoring the pitiful cries of my bank balance (*sobs*) I've found some real gems this month and I've fallen head over heals for all of them! So without further ado, here are my May favourites!

1. Good Genes 'Sunday Riley' Corrective Serum - After hearing so many amazing things about this product I'd been wanting to give it a go for quite some time. Despite the very steep price that was without doubt out of my price range, I am absolutely made up with it! This is the first product that I've bought where everything I've heard about it is 100% true! It has completely evened out my skin tone, brightened my complexion and removes blemishes over night. I'd 10/10 recommend this to anyone who wants to indulge in a luxury new skincare product.

2. MAC Studio Fluid Fix Foundation in the shade NC15 - It's just so dreamy. It has fantastic coverage and really evens out my skin tone. It's also amazingly easy to blend and gives you the perfect 'dewy' look!

3. Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof Eyeliner - If you want a long lasting easy to apply eyeliner that creates sharp lines and the perfect flick, this is the one for you. Just be warned, you'll 100% need an eye make up remover to get this stuff off. I use Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and it just about does the job. I have to pay my eyes extra attention when I'm taking off my make-up after having worn this.

4. Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in 'Candy K' - three words: WORTH. THE. HYPE.

5. YSL Baby Doll Mascara - Just proof of how fabulous my friends are. I was given this as part of a gift set from one of my little coffee shop babies for my 21st birthday and I absolutely love it. The applicator head is long with short bristles meaning that your lashes are never left looking clumpy. This mascara is amazing at lengthening and giving your lashes a really black finish.

6. Stila Eyeshadow Palette - You're not allowed to see the inside of my one because I've hit pan on a few shades and it's just too upsetting to look at. This palette is perfect for those starting out with eyeshadow as non of the shades are particularly intimidating. There's a good balance between matte and shimmer shades and they're so pigmented! My current go to look is - Bliss on the crease, Sunset and Gilded Gold on the outer corner, and Kitten on the lid and inner corner.

7. Michael Kors Jetset Travel Purse - As if my boyfriend couldn't get any more perfect, he surprised me with this little treasure as one of the amazing gifts he got me for my 21st birthday back in April. To me, Michael Kors is a luxury that you daydream and drool over and although I'd mentioned to him how beautiful I thought MK purses were, I never in a million years expected him to go out and buy me one. I'd like to include Huw in my annual favorites, he's a fabulous little find himself. This purse is no ordinary purse... in fact, I'd go as far as saying it was the Goddess of all purses. It has little nooks and cranny's everywhere and I'm never short of space. This can also double up as a clutch for those of you who enjoy a night out, as I've had no problem fitting my phone in there either!

8. Chanel 'Eau Tendre' - Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I'm the worst at describing scents but just trust me *heart eye emoji*. Go to your local Debenhams, give it a sniff and brace yourselves for the most phenomenal schnoz experience of your life. You're welcome in advance.

9. The Balm 'Mary-Lou Manizer' Highlighter - I look and feel like a glazed doughnut and I'm perfectly okay with that. Thank you to the balm for making my cheekbones brighter than my future.

10. Lush 'Sex Bomb' Bath Ballistic - Oh ho ho my friends, despite being absent from the blogging world for over a year, my burning love for all thing lush has remained strong. As you may have noticed, this isn't included in the above image simply for the reason that I used it weeks before the thought of this post had even entered my mind. This year, all of my exams have been afternoon exams starting at 2:30, meaning that my mornings have been full of stress. This has resulted in emergency 9am bath-therapy, which has been absolutely fabulous. I owe all my grades to lush for providing me with the products I need to create
a calm and soothing environment for me to learn my complicated legal stuff. Lush, you will forever remain my fave.

Bonus non-beauty/fashion related favorites:

11. Sia - aka my Queen. After binge watching James Cordon's Carpool Karaoke with Sia, I then proceeded to buy 2 of her albums and I regret nothing. She is just wow. I heart her music big time.

12. 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown - Don't judge me. How can you not enjoy the delights of Jon Richardson and his love of cardigans combined with Jimmy Carr's infectious laugh and Sean Lock's sarcastic fabulousness. GENIUS.
